path to explore
the various
artistic, historical
and cultural assets
that a trail town
has to offer.

Damascus, Virginia
Gilbert, West Virginia
West Newton, Pennsylvania
Livingston, KY was certified in May 2013 as a trail town that is
experiences a growing success.
29. Trail Town Steps
1. Set a meeting date to organize interested people/parties.
2. Set a date (and back-up date) to explore the existing trails and trail
systems.
3. After some time, reassemble all self-assessment teams to discuss general
observations.
4. Reconvene at the meeting place and compile notes.
5. Continue through the trail route advisory meeting steps to identify and
meet with landowners and discuss the project.
6. Move forward.
7. Form the Trail Route Advisory Subcommittee (TRAC).

3rd Meeting :- Review findings and finalize trail route.
4th Meeting :- Develop a written plan to be used for completion of trail
construction. (Required for certification).
