FPRA Capital Chapter hosts branding symposium
Professional development event to cover business and personal branding
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Capital Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association will host
a professional development event on Thursday, Jan. 17 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the University
Center Club. The half-day series, titled Cultivating a Powerful Reputation: Lessons in Branding,
will feature local and national industry experts.
Attendees will hear from Heidi Otway, APR, VP and Director of PR & Social Media for
Salter>Mitchell, about how to Find Your Brand Voice within the realm of social media.
The second session will feature expert advice from Steve Murray, Communications Director for
the Florida Department of Veterans' Affairs, and Michelle Ubben, Chief Operating Officer for
Ron Sachs Communications, about how to overcome some of the challenges organizations face
when Rebranding an Established Brand.
From 12–1 p.m. participants will enjoy lunch and a keynote presentation from Trevor Elwell,
Head Search Engine Representative for BrandYourself.com. His presentation, titled The Power
of Your Personal Brand: Managing Your Online Reputation, promises that with the right tools
and knowledge, anyone can improve their own search results.
