between a registered
investment advisor
and a broker/dealer
transparency & honesty
registered investment advisor:
as an RIA you have to uphold a “fiduciary duty.”
simply put, you have to always do what’s in
your client’s best interest. especially putting
their interests above your own.
broker/dealer:
the rules only require that the investment is suitable for a client. that
