Book Week
Tuesday 4 June – Friday 7 June
Book Week is coming up soon and there’s a lot happening to makeit fun and exciting for
everyone! Book Week is all about fostering the love of reading in our children,whileat
the same time,helping to grow our school library collection. We will have a ‘wish list’ of
books we would like to purchase for our school library.

Book Olympics competitions (lunch time)
Wednesday Book Olympics competitions (lunch time)
Thursday Staff storytelling around the school
Book Olympics competitions (lunch time)
Friday Grandparents Assembly &Morning Tea
Grandparents in learning Hubs
Book Character Parade
Book Olympics School finals (afternoon)
Grand Parents Morning – Friday 7 June 9am – 12 noon (approx.)
Grandparents are invited to join in the festivities on Friday 7 June. The morning will
include a special school assembly, morning tea, time in the learning hubs and the book
character parade. During the morning, children will be able to take their grandparents
to the book display in the library.
Grandparents are invited from 9am so that they can be welcomed and seated in the Hall
before the children arrive at 9.15. Children will be sending invitations to their
grandparents over the next two weeks, but please start telling them about it now.
Other Activities
Book display in the Library all week.
Library based competitionsfor all children.
Each Hub will be fundraising to purchase a book or two for the school library.
Book Character Parade
Please encourage children to dress up as a book character for the parade on the Friday.
Simple costumes made from items around the home work really well and are lots of fun.
