CILT – Centro Interescolar de Línguas de Taguatinga...Isabelle Ferraz
Do you
see what I
see?
Once upon a time there
was a girl... She was a
princess...
A different
princess... A
princess of her
own world and
her house was
her castle...
But she had a
serious
problem...
Perhaps it was
only her vision
or even in her
head...
She felt ugly, even though she was so beautiful in the eyes of
others... No one has ever understood... “To deny one’s own
beauty would be madness”, her brother said.
She had her
friends, they
were strange
friends, but
who could
blame her?
Once her friend the
lion asked her:
“Why you do not see
yourself as you are?”
If you are beautiful,
accept it! I’m the king
and I’ve always been
proud, why should I
deny it? Are you not a
queen? But nothing
convinced her. “What
is it that everyone
sees?” She asked
herself.
However, she was not convinced and so
she asked the one which was wiser, the
owl... “Tell me, why I can’t see what the
others see? Why I can’t see that I am
really beautiful?” She asked. And the owl
said:
- “My dear, you know yourself so well,
people see you only from the outside. You
have a very special thing, which is the
capacity to recognise your own faults. You
just have to accept them. However,
understand that these faults do not make
you less beauiful, but they are only part of
you and they are elements which make
you unique.”
And so, she finally understood why shy
she didn’t see things the same way as
others and she realized that her beauty
was different from he other and so she
felt more beautiful and pleased with
herself each day... Her greatest beauty
was the capacity to see the beauty hidden
onside the other animals and it’s easy to
see the external beauty, but the beauty
which lies inside only those who are
sensitive can see and this is a very special
type of beauty.
