Bollywood is the Hindi-language film industry based in Mumbai, India. It is one of the largest film producers in the world. Bollywood originated from combining the words "Bombay" and "Hollywood". While the first Indian film was made in 1913, Bollywood gained worldwide popularity around 2000. Bollywood films are mostly musicals that incorporate various genres like love, action and comedy, with melodramatic plots. Critics argue that many Bollywood films are bad remakes or low quality despite high production levels each year.
