This document describes the intent for the board of the Ohara chapter, and the general duties of the board.

Ohara School of Ikebana
Statement of Intent
The Board will:
*promote the study of the Ohara School of Ikebana
*provide a program for members including workshops and
demonstrations to enhance the learning of the school’s members
*continue to provide members with opportunities to heighten their
understanding and appreciation of the Ohara School of Ikebana
* increase the awareness of the general public with regard to the Ohara
School of Ikebana
* communicate with members to develop chapter goals published at the
AGM and in the newsletter
General Duties of all Board Members
1. Keep current files for their position
2. Prepare reports for meetings when activities have been undertaken by their position
3. Attend all board and AGM meetings, if unable to attend to submit reports as above
4. Submit expense forms as necessary with receipts attached
5. Support all board members and decisions taken by the board as a whole
6. Pass on current files to the incumbent when leaving a position on the board
7. Archive past files, as required, for storage
8. Become familiar with their position’s job description
9. Ensure that the incumbent is aware of and has a copy of the job description
