Oren Peli is an Israeli director and producer known for pioneering the "found footage" genre with the Paranormal Activity franchise. He introduced and produced the first three Paranormal Activity films through his company Blumhouse Productions. Peli was inspired by The Blair Witch Project's idea of lost footage being found and brought this concept to the Paranormal Activity series. He later produced the successful film Insidious with James Wan. 2. Oren Peli is a name that has kept popping
up on blogs and videos that I’ve looked at
during my research. I've then looked
deeper into his name and found out that
he's been behind many of the films that
I’ve analysed the teaser trailers for. Much
like myself Peli was inspired by the
unique idea that was The Blair Witch
Project; he particularly loved the idea of
lost footage being found and that is
particular in the Paranormal Activity
series.

3. Blumhouse productions have made the first
three in the series of the famous psychological
horror series; Paranormal Activity. The idea was
introduced by Israeli director/ producer Oren
Peli, who later produced the successful
Insidious film with the help of Saw director
James Wan. The idea of this film has made a
huge effect on how I wish to make my teaser
trailer.

4. Sinister is a recent film produced by
Blumhouse, the film much like many others
produced, is a psychological horror film which
isn't too dissimilar from The Ring with some
aspects. A big thing that I like about Blumhouse
Productions is that all the films are scary in the
good way not the thriller jumpy way; which so
many modern horror films are doing.

5. Although not officially produced by Blumhouse, it
was made with the help of Oren Peli who as said
before was the introducer of Paranormal Activity
which has given Blumhouse the recognisable
name it has today. Insidious and Sinister are
different to Paranormal Activity in the way that its
filmed, I'm taking the Blair Witch type filming idea
from Paranormal Activity and really want to
attempt to use a very similar story to that of the
other two.
