This document discusses wound healing in hemophilia patients. It finds that hemophilia patients have impaired wound healing due to reduced thrombin generation. Thrombin promotes healing through platelet activation and fibrin clot formation. In mouse models of hemophilia B, wounds have reduced fibrin, delayed macrophage infiltration, increased and prolonged angiogenesis, and iron deposition in tissues. Restoring thrombin at wounding only partially improves healing. Late bleeding in wounds may be due to angiogenesis creating fragile new vessels prone to bleeding. Inflammation alone does not cause bleeding in hemophilia mice as it does in thrombocytopenic mice. The document hypothesizes that iron deposition from bleeding could stimulate more angiogenesis and continued bleeding in a vicious cycle.

Introduction to Blockchain as technology, and infrastructure layer versus just cryptocurrency. Some ideas of business applications and use cases.
Presented at Kyiv Outsourcing Forum 2017
This document provides a toolbox of cryptocurrency and blockchain resources for individuals operating as self-sovereign bitcoin bankers. It outlines 7 areas of concern for bitcoin bankers including custody, clearance, communications, compliance, credit, crypto-security, and operational security. For each area, the toolbox recommends specific hardware, software, and platforms to manage risks and enable permissionless banking operations. The goal is to strategically align bitcoin bankers using this pattern language template and crowdsource new tools through open communication channels.
The document discusses the need for next generation identity and access management (IAM) systems due to trends like cloud computing, mobile devices, and data breaches. It outlines some key challenges with traditional IAM, including only supporting web SSO. The author proposes a next generation IAM approach built on standards like SAML, OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect to support web, mobile, APIs and large scale deployments across clouds in a consistent way.
The document provides an overview of blockchain technology and its applications. It discusses how blockchain solves problems with digital timestamps by making records tamper-proof through cryptographic hashing and storing data in an immutable distributed ledger. Blockchain forms a chain of blocks containing timestamped transaction data secured using cryptography. This allows for applications like smart contracts that self-execute deals and land title verification through an immutable record of property ownership transfers. The document also discusses cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum, and how initial coin offerings are used to fund blockchain-based projects.
