Editor's Notes

  • #2 BREAKTHROUGH   The concept of “breakthrough” is flexible: With it’s relation to science and discovery, it represents not only the efforts of biotech professionals and patient advocates but also their achievements—the important global challenges they solve. It is an inspiring, action-oriented theme, at once honoring individual achievements and urging biotech professionals and patient advocates to continue to rise to the challenges our global society faces.   The “breakthrough” theme is extendable. It positions the Convention as the event where biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, academic research institutions and investors can meet with breakthrough partners, companies can breakthrough the competition on the exhibit floor, and anyone can learn about breakthroughs in education sessions, company presentations and keynotes. We can also extend the theme to showcase all the networking, social events and amazing parties the Convention offers by playing with the word “Breakthrough.”
  • #15 It’s the heartbeat of the Convention. The exhibit hall offers a lot of diversity – the exhibit floor gives you a snapshot of where the industry is now. It’s the latest in technology and breakthroughs. California Pavilion 2014 – 1,000nsf 2015 – 400nsf 2016 – 2,000nsf Slated for 2017- 1,500nsf
  • #18  We have a number of “cool” San Diego sponsorship opportunities available this year Sundeck Lounge Social Photo booth Mobile Chargers Biergarten Virtual Reality Tours And more!
  • #19 We don’t have set tracks – we build the program based on timely topics. Call for sessions just closed earlier this week. We had more than 400 submissions – highest amount in recent history!! We anticipate 15+ tracks --- the program committee is comprised of regional, national and international industry leaders --- they help us vet the topics and build the program. Super session on four days. We’ll discuss keynote topics later in this presentation.
  • #20 New format at BIO 2016 Morning timeslot Very-well received Plan to continue Challenges to working with celebrity Potential Speakers Brainstorm
  • #23 Year 3
