1. My Hobbies
Everyone have their own hobbies A hobby is the thing that we do to fill our free time.
Hobbies are considered as an activity, interest, enthusiasm, or amateur pastime that is
undertaken for pleasure or relaxation and typically done during one's leisure time.
Hobby is something which we enjoy doing. We all have our own likes and dislike. We
enjoy doing something more than others. A hobby gives us pleasure for we do it, for the
love of the work and not under compulsion to earn. Thus, it is more fulfilling and gives
us more satisfaction and joy. I have many type of hobbies. My indoor hobbies is reading
books, collecting stamps and watching television while my outdoor hobbies is singing.
My first hobby is reading. I read many type of books such as story books, magazines,
newspapers and any kind of material that I find interesting. This hobby got started when
I was a little boy. I had always wanted my parents to read fairy tales and other stories to
me. Reading helps me learn about so many things that I would otherwise not know. I
learned about how people lived in bygone days of magic and mystery. I learned about
the wonders of the world, space travel, human achievements, gigantic whales, tiny
viruses and other fascinating things of our world and even about love story. The
wonderful thing about reading is that I do not have to learn things the hard way. For
example, i do not have to go deep into the jungle to learn about the tiger. I can read and
see about it in a book. Books provide the reader with so much information and facts.
They have certainly helped me in my daily life. I am better equipped to cope with living.
Otherwise I would go about ignorantly learning things the hard way. So I continue to
read. Besides being more informed about the world, I also spend my time profitably. It is
indeed a good hobby and brings lots of benefit.
My second hobby is singing. For me, music play important role in our life. I myself have
a large collection of tapes and I listen to all kinds of music. My collection ranges from
classical music to Rock and from Indian music to Western one. My hobby is to listen to
these songs carefully and then to learn to sing them. I will sit with a paper and a pen
and write down the lyrics of the songs that I hear and sometime download the lyrics

2. from the internet. Then I will try to hum along and catch the music or song tunes. During
my free time, I often spend my time going to karaoke places like K11, Blue box,
Panggau Libau and ect. By doing that I will learn how to sing like a real singer n leant to
know my voice range. Whenever I go to a party, my friends persuade me to sing. Once I
begin, the party livens up, people join in and the place is filled with the sound of music. I
feel proud of myself and thank me because they feel that I become the life of the party.
My hobby makes me happy and also brings joy to all my relatives and friends. It also
helps me to release my tension and build up my confidence level and improve my
communication skills.
My third hobbies is stamp collecting. Very colorful and descriptive stamps of various
designs make me interested to collect them. I was so much enamored of those stamps
that I decided to have stamp collecting as my hobby. I have with me about two hundred
stamps of various countries. Most of the stamps are of rare variety and my friends who
see them are all praise for them. They are arranged in a number of albums in a very
systematic manner. The stamps tell us about different personages, flora and fauna,
historical events, achievements in the scientific and other fields of various countries.
Some of my collection are denote some festivals or great or important days. I love to
see them off and on and it satisfied my needs.
My fourth hobbies is watching television. As a training teacher, I found it hard to have
time to watch television but when I am free, I do spend my free time watching. Of all the
TV programs, I like news and documentaries best. The news programs shown on TV3
help me to know almost everything about different places in our country and important
events happening all over the world. Through these programs, I can also know about
the main national and international sporting events. The documentary programs at
weekends are my favorites. By watching them, I can learnt a great deal about human
civilization , the wonders of nature and amazing inventions, the wonder of nature and
amazing inventions and discoveries of great people in the world. Sometimes I do watch
cartoon and music entertainment.Its help myself to know about the latest music video,
fashion, movies and gossip.

3. As the conclusion, it is necessary that everybody must have some hobby. Hobby give
us lots of benefit and can prevent us from doing bad thing to fill our leisure time. It
educates us, gives us pleasure, and helps us to utilize our free time fruitfully. If a person
has no hobby, his spare time will turn him into a useless, irritated and restless person.
"An idle mind is a devil's workshop". It is, therefore, essential to remain busy even in
leisure hours. Hobbies always come to one's help.
