Creating an Integrated Healthcare Delivery System through ITPankaj Vaish
The document summarizes solutions for improving healthcare in India through integrated healthcare delivery systems using information technology. It discusses problems like low healthcare spending and lack of access to care in rural areas. Solutions proposed include using electronic health records, telemedicine, remote patient monitoring and mobile health to improve access, affordability and availability of care. The conference discusses Religare Technologies' integrated hospital information systems, teleconsultation platforms, and patient education apps as examples of using IT to help bridge India's healthcare divide by making healthcare providers and services more interconnected.
The document discusses research being conducted at Xerox Research Center India on non-contact video-based detection of vital signs and diseases. This includes using video to monitor respiration, heart rate, temperature and detect cardiac arrhythmias. The research aims to provide decision support for clinicians for diagnosis, prediction and treatment options. Examples are provided of data collection on cancer patients and a proposed emergency room decision support system for stroke prediction.

This document analyzes promoting healthcare tourism in India. It discusses India's strengths in accredited hospitals, advanced equipment, and lower prices compared to other countries. However, weaknesses include underdeveloped infrastructure like roads and airports. Opportunities include partnering with hotels/airlines and developing infrastructure. Threats are competitors like Thailand and weak infrastructure deterring customers. A recommendation is a three-pronged marketing approach targeting foreigners coming for treatment, treatment and leisure, and expatriates while improving infrastructure through government partnerships and subsidies.
India Healthcare Overview - Consumer Perspectivemanish.rathi
The document discusses opportunities in India's healthcare industry from a consumer perspective. It notes that more Indian healthcare consumers are using the internet to research health issues due to limited time with doctors and a desire to understand options. However, consumers also face an information overload and confusion. There is potential to structure shared experiences and wisdom of crowds online to help consumers navigate health information and alternatives. The growing burden of chronic diseases in India also presents opportunities for non-traditional business models to address issues like categorizing health problems and publishing medical findings.
My presentation on Healthcare Information Exchange technical infrastructure given as a skills building session at the eHealth Conference in Kenya (http://www.e-healthconference.or.ke/)
This document discusses health culture and practices among Indian immigrants. It outlines that India has a large and diverse population facing major health challenges like infectious and cardiovascular diseases. When Indians immigrate to New Zealand, they initially display healthier profiles than locals due to selection biases, though health declines over time with reduced physical activity and diet changes. Barriers to healthcare include language issues and unfamiliarity with the New Zealand system. Developing cultural competence among providers, understanding traditional Indian practices, employing visual communication methods, and involving family can help improve healthcare for Indian immigrants.

8 Surprising Reasons To Meditate 40 Minutes A Day That Can Change Your Life.pptxHolistified Wellness
We’re talking about Vedic Meditation, a form of meditation that has been around for at least 5,000 years. Back then, the people who lived in the Indus Valley, now known as India and Pakistan, practised meditation as a fundamental part of daily life. This knowledge that has given us yoga and Ayurveda, was known as Veda, hence the name Vedic. And though there are some written records, the practice has been passed down verbally from generation to generation.

Cell Therapy Expansion and Challenges in Autoimmune DiseaseHealth Advances
There is increasing confidence that cell therapies will soon play a role in the treatment of autoimmune disorders, but the extent of this impact remains to be seen. Early readouts on autologous CAR-Ts in lupus are encouraging, but manufacturing and cost limitations are likely to restrict access to highly refractory patients. Allogeneic CAR-Ts have the potential to broaden access to earlier lines of treatment due to their inherent cost benefits, however they will need to demonstrate comparable or improved efficacy to established modalities.
In addition to infrastructure and capacity constraints, CAR-Ts face a very different risk-benefit dynamic in autoimmune compared to oncology, highlighting the need for tolerable therapies with low adverse event risk. CAR-NK and Treg-based therapies are also being developed in certain autoimmune disorders and may demonstrate favorable safety profiles. Several novel non-cell therapies such as bispecific antibodies, nanobodies, and RNAi drugs, may also offer future alternative competitive solutions with variable value propositions.
Widespread adoption of cell therapies will not only require strong efficacy and safety data, but also adapted pricing and access strategies. At oncology-based price points, CAR-Ts are unlikely to achieve broad market access in autoimmune disorders, with eligible patient populations that are potentially orders of magnitude greater than the number of currently addressable cancer patients. Developers have made strides towards reducing cell therapy COGS while improving manufacturing efficiency, but payors will inevitably restrict access until more sustainable pricing is achieved.
Despite these headwinds, industry leaders and investors remain confident that cell therapies are poised to address significant unmet need in patients suffering from autoimmune disorders. However, the extent of this impact on the treatment landscape remains to be seen, as the industry rapidly approaches an inflection point.
