BEAUTIFUL NIGHTMARES
- Written by Wendy Nguyen
It’s the 2nd of December 2010. A normal Friday day, except
there's a school trip today. She walks out of her door, to say
goodbye to her mum and she replies back, "be safe and have fun",
but the girl will soon that will not be the case but a day that
they will affect her for the rest of her life. As they make their
way to the museum she and her friends are talking about plans
they are making tonight after the museum trip.
As they arrive to explore the statues and history within the
building, they come across this usually big wooden door. The next
move the girls do will be a step that they will forever regret;
they open the door to think that it will lead them to another
part of the museum. Slowly they walk through this endless hall,
with absolutely no light whatsoever. All of a sudden the girl and
her friends get lost in the dark, not knowing where they are
heading. As they think they are getting closer to a light,
suddenly… Upon comes this old woman, dressed in black from head
to toe comes out of nowhere with her lamp.
The old lady walks towards them, giving this undeniably
frightening stare. By the time the girl turns around to see if
her friends were by her side, they had already ran off leaving
the girl on her own with this old women. The lady approaches her
with this piece of paper, as I question her to ask her what it
is, the old lady insisted that it was gift and only for me. The
girl accepts it as gift, not wanting to be rude so she says "oh
thank you" as the old lady face lightens up and replies "oh you
are very welcome" but did the girl know, this could bring her
evil that will change her life forever.
As she makes it back to her house cause her friends ditched her,
so she gets ready for bed. The girl places the piece of paper
beside her bed, not thinking much of it but she felt special
because she received this present, as the old lady claims. The
girl then falls asleep as usual after a long and weird day
exhausted.
She suddenly has these realistic but disturbing dreams but she
could almost remember seeing the old lady in her dream. But why
did it feel so real to her? How could she have these dreams of
this old woman, she’s only met her once? The dream contained of
the girl agreeing to kill the names on the list, she finds
herself at the killers home, with a machete and blood pouring
down her face filled with joy and passion.
During the daytime she lives her life as a typical teenager does
but as soon she gets into bed everything changes, no longer a
typical teenager but she doesn’t realize how much of a serial
killer she is during the night, who kills during her beautiful
nightmares, a gift that was presented to her by the old lady and
she will never know that it has changed her life forever.
