Kirsty Campbell won the Beginning Teacher Award at the WA Education Awards Breakfast on November 30th, which was sponsored by Edith Cowan University. There were four finalists in the Beginning Teacher category, with three coming from high schools. Kirsty was announced as the winner and received her award in front of an audience at the Crown Grand Ballroom. Her parents had organized a surprise party for her after the ceremony to celebrate, which she was surprised by, showing the kids enjoyed keeping the award a secret from her.
