Emperor penguins are the largest penguin species, standing 115cm tall and weighing between 23-40kg depending on their breeding cycle. They breed in large colonies on the frozen ice of Antarctica during the winter, with the males incubating the single egg on their feet while the females gather food. After the eggs hatch, the parents brood their young for 50 days before fledging out to sea. Emperor penguins are excellent divers, reaching depths of over 500m to hunt for fish, krill, and squid to survive in the harsh Antarctic environment.
This document covers three animal groups - reptiles, fish, and amphibians. Reptiles lay eggs and have scales, and can live on land or in water. Fish lay eggs, have scales and fins, and live exclusively in water. Amphibians also lay eggs but have bare skin, and live in or near water.

The Australian sea lion is a marine mammal found along the western and southern coastlines of Australia. They have thick fur to keep them warm in the water and flippers instead of legs to help them swim. They feed on fish, squid, and other sea creatures. Females give birth to a single pup each year between January and June. The Australian sea lion is endangered due to past overhunting and current threats such as entanglement in fishing nets, shark attacks, boat strikes, and water pollution.
The Everglades were established as a protected area in 1947 to preserve unique plant and animal species that live in its marshy habitat. The Everglades cover 287,000 acres of thick limestone ground that acts as a marsh, supporting mangroves, panthers, eagles and other rare species that have lived there for over 2,000 years. Airboats are a popular way for tourists to explore the Everglades and see alligators, crocodiles and other reptiles, passing under palm and cypress trees that can grow 70-80 feet high.
This presentation shows about guano islands, its location, significance, what is guano, what is anchovies, how guano is formed, its production, decline and conservation methods. We must save the nature which provides food, water and shelter for us. This is the presentation which I made when I was 10 years old and I have with some modifications.
This document discusses three types of penguins - Macaroni penguins which toboggan on ice and are found on South Georgia Island, Emperor penguins which can dive over 1,700 feet below the surface and are very popular, and Chinstrap penguins which like to slide on their bellies and use their flippers to help them swim.
The document introduces the Awesome Fish Project, which allows users to explore different coral reef sites by clicking on them. It then summarizes information about the Angelfish species. It notes that Angelfish are found on tropical reefs in the Atlantic, Indian, and Pacific oceans. They have vibrant colors and laterally compressed bodies. They resemble butterflyfish but can be distinguished by the presence of spines on their gill covers.
The document summarizes two preserved areas in Cyprus: Larnaca Salt Lake (Alyki) and the Akamas Peninsula. Larnaca Salt Lake is an important resting place for waterbirds and once produced salt for export. The Akamas Peninsula has very rich and unique flora and fauna, including over 500 plant species, 35 of which are endemic to the area. Both areas are important to protect Cyprus's natural heritage.

The wild pig of the Basque country, known as the Felichius, is endangered due to hunting. Hunting of the wild pig is now forbidden to protect the species, which can grow very large in the nutrient-rich Basque forests, typically weighing 200-300kg. The largest Felichius on record was hunted in 1964 in Bizkargi and weighed 456kg, hunted before such hunting was forbidden.
Emperor penguins are large birds that live in Antarctica. They can grow up to 1.2 meters tall and have a lifespan of 15-50 years. Emperor penguins survive the harsh Antarctic climate through a layered feather coat and a large body size that helps retain heat. They mainly eat fish and squid caught near Antarctica.
Northern royal albatrosses have a wingspan of over 3 meters which allows them to fly long distances over the oceans in search of squid and fish to eat. They can live up to 60 years and weigh around 9 kilograms. Albatrosses are rarely seen on land except to breed, laying one egg every two years. They use their specialized nostrils and ability to float on water to help them survive at sea for long periods.

Close encounter with a jaguar - Maarten SchäferMaarten Schäfer
The next morning at sunrise we’re navigating a small boat upstream in search of a jaguar. From the big river we take a left into a smaller river, then a right into a creek and then a right again where we find ourselves in the middle of nowhere. “The first thing we have to do is look for footprints on the river beds,” Ailton says with a low voice, as if he thinks a jaguar will hear us. Just as we decide to call it a day, Ailton suddenly shouts: “There he is!”

The Angono Salubong is an Easter celebration in the Philippines that reenacts the meeting of the risen Christ and his mother Mary. It takes place in Galilea and involves a Kapitana who recites a long poem and birds that open a heart containing an angel. The Kapitana and her court wear expensive costumes and the role of Kapitana is highly coveted. The celebration combines religious tradition with dance and local customs, and has become a source of community and cultural pride.
Is Angono just a place for paper mache giants, or is it really the land of giants: giant men who tower above the rest in their achievements. Truly some folks from Angono are outstanding in their own field and are truly giants. There must be 5 dozen higantes in this parade held before the fiesta
