The 14th regular session of the 8th Sangguniang Barangay of Baluntay, Alabel Sarangani Province was held on July 18, 2022. Members discussed and unanimously approved Resolution No. 2022-15 to adopt and endorse Resolution No. 2022-1 from the Datu Abdullah Tondog Elementary School Parents Teachers Association. This resolution requests the conversion of Datu Abdullah Tondog Elementary School into an integrated school providing both elementary and secondary education, to open for the 2023-2024 school year. The resolution aims to address the lack of accessible secondary education in Baluntay and help students continue their education after 6th grade.

“RESOUTION ADOPTING AND ENDORSING THE RESOLUTION NO. 2022-1 OF
DATU ABDULLAH TONDOG ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PARETS TEACHERS
ASSOCIATION REQUESTING THE SCHOOLS DIVISION SUPERINTENDENT OF
SARANGANI DIVISION, GILDO G. MOSQUEDA VI, FOR THE CONVERSION OF
DATU ABDULLAH TONDOG ELEMENTARY SCHOOL INTO INTEGRATED
SCHOOL AND ITS IMMEDIATE OPENING FOR SCHOOL YEAR 2023-2024 AT
BALUNTAY, ALABEL, SARANGANI PROVINCE”
WHEREAS, RA 9155 Section 2 declared the policy of the state to protect and promote the
right of all citizens to quality basic education and to make such education accessible to all
by providing all the Filipino children a free and compulsory education in the elementary
level and free education in the right of high school level.
WHEREAS, based on the fact that Baluntay, Alabel has only accessible elementary
education and has not yet established school which offers secondary education.
WHEREAS, that the Parents Teachers Association of Datu Abdullah Tondog Elementary
School has been discussed the situation of elementary pupils after grade six will hae to face
another challenge that their lives and that acquiring and completing a secondary education
at school which are miles away from their homes;
WHEREAS, Parents Teachers Association presented that most of their students could not
survive high school aside from being distant from their homes.
WHEREAS, based on the above presented by the PTAf Datu Abdullah Tondog Elementary
School that the establishment of a secondary school at Datu Abdullah Tondog Elementary
School into an Integrated School through conversion of Datu Abdullah Tondog Elementary
School will cater incoming Grade Seven High School Students especially those out-of-
school youth of which enrolment came most probably from the hard-earning families who
engaged in early marriages;

2. WHEREAS, after the series of scrutiny and studies the Sangguniang Barangay found out
that the above aforementioned attuned to support this proposal the conversion of Datu
Abdullah Tondog Elementary School into an Integrated School;
NOW THEREFORE, upon motion of Hon. Moharris L. Apad, Committee Chairman on
Education and duly seconded Hon. Teodulo D. Dalisay in session assembles has; be it
RESOLVED, as it is hereby RESOLVED, to adopt and endorse a Resolution No. 2022-01
of Datu Abdullah Tondog Elementary School Parents Teachers Association requesting the
Schools Division Superintendent of Sarangani Division, Gildo G. Mosqueda, CEO VI for
the conversion of Datu Abdullah Tondog Elementary School into an Integrated School and
its immediate opening for the school year 2023-2024 at Baluntay, Alabel, Sarangani
Province.
RESOLVED FURTHER, to submit copies of this resolution to the DepEd Division of
Sarangani, Municipal Local Government Unit of Alabel and Provincial Local Government
Unit of Sarangani, Municipal Government Unit of Alabel, and Provincial Local
Government Unit of Sarangani and other offices concerned for the information and
appropriate action.
