Gunung Kawi is a Hindu temple complex located in Bali that is over 600 years old. The temples were built starting in the 10th century during the reign of King Udayana. Additional construction took place in 1023 under King Marakata. The complex is carved into stone cliffs along the Pekerisan River and features ornate temple structures that resemble mountain symbols.
