2. Introduction
Every woman is the central point in every family. The whole house is
controlled by the woman. She is responsible to form a society, nation and
world. God has created women with all these good qualities.
In Indian Vedshastra, they have represented women as:
• Aditi- Self independent
• Bhruti-With good heart
• Saraswati-Intelligent
• Devkaam-Pious
• Sumangali-Auspicious
• Vishrut-Successful
3. Kitchen Medicine
In time past, Kitchen medicine was practiced by every house wife. She may not have used the term or even
thought about it much ; but she would have learned how to treat her family for every day ailments and
minor emergencies with what she have in her hands
Doctors were expensive and so people had to be more self-reliant in their health care
Some examples like :
Baking soda for upset of stomach
Hot lemon and honey as a drink for cold
Chicken soup was a cure- all and if any doubt a nice cup of tea was just the thing
Therefore we think it is time to revive the disappearing tradition of using your pantry as your pharmacy
