2. INTRODUCTION
I did my internship from 1st February 2022 to 28th March 2022 at the office of
Sumit Sarna & Partners. I did my internship under the guidance of Advocate
Mamta Sarna.
The most important thing I learnt during my internship was very basic i.e. the
format which should be strictly followed while drafting various documents.
My court visits were limited due to covid and I spent majority of time in reading
files, research work, miscellaneous tasks in office.
3. MAIN TASKS
• Assisting document while drafting various agreements, legal
notice, affidavits, etc.
• Thoroughly going through files and documents of cases.
• Tried to find out and research for the judgements which are
required for the current case.
• Attended meeting with the clients.
• Attended virtual and physical court hearings.
• Checking the status of date of hearings and status of the cases.
4. THINGS I LEARNT
Drafting a legal notice: The first and foremost thing one should learn is
to draft a legal notice. Hence, I learnt about the basic format and other
things in detail.
Drafting a complaint: I learnt how to draft a complaint before
magistrate of first class, whether under civil or criminal case.
Filing an affidavit in evidence and vakalatnama.
I got aware about the concept of annexure/exhibits.

Cheque dishonorment cases: Drafting mandatory notice u/s 138 for individuals
and u/s 138 and 141 of the Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881 for companies.
Affidavit in evidence: Drafting an affidavit in evidence u/s 145 and 257 of CrPC
read with section 147 of Negotiable Instrument Act.
Family Court case matters related to Hindu Marriage Act like petition for divorce.
Consumer case matters related to consumer disputed filed under section 12 of

FACTS
It is a suit for possession, recovery of dues and mesne profits. Defendant had a rent agreement with mother of the
plaintiff who was the owner of the property. But the mother died on 16.10.2020, plaintiff became the owner, but rent
agreement could not be renewed because of the death of plaintiff’s mother. Since 2021, defendant stopped paying
rent, electricity charges, water charges, lift charges. Plaintiff was asking the defendant to vacate property since
2020 but he didn’t. As per their agreement, plaintiff was entitled to get the property vacated even without notice if
the defendant failed to pay for consecutive two months.
ISSUES
1. Whether the plaintiff is entitled for physical possession of the property in dispute?
2. Whether defendant is liable to pay the per month damages along with interest @24% p.a?
COURT’S OBSERVATION
Both the parties seek for adjournment. Both the parties were directed to present in person on the said date.
SELF OBSERVATION
There was a scope for settlement. Hon’ble judge pursued the counsels to get the matter settled and avoid wasting
time in litigation.

It is a probate petition on behalf of the petitioner under section 26 of The Indian Succession Act, 1925. Sh.
Kamal Nath was owner of the property. He died in 2017 leaving behind his wife and two children. Late Sh.
Kamal Nath executed a will in favour of the son of petitioner with regard to immovable property. Both the
respondents were also witness to the will and are ready to file affidavit for the same. Now, petitioner wants
probate certificate in his name.
ISSUES
Prayed before the court for granting probate certificate in regard to the will.
COURT’S OBSERVATION
Court asked for filing amended memo of parties. Issue notice of the petition to the respondent i.e. state
through collector and remaining respondents.
SELF OBSERVATION
Amended memo of parties was already filed but it wasn’t put on record.

10. CONCLUSION
Overall my internship of almost two months was a good experience. I got a deep and inspiring
insight during office work as well as court hearings. I got an opportunity to learn basic and
many new things related to law. I think this 2 month internship was not enough for me as there
are more things to be learnt and the list is never ending. Hence, I wish that in future I will get
more opportunities to learn.
