2. Festivals spread colours of
joy and happiness in our life but
when celebrating them we should
not harm our environment. Many
times while celebrating festivals our
environment get harmed due to
pollution.
5. On makarsankrant while flying kites many
birds die due to the sharp ‘Manja’. Kites
made up of plastic are sold in large
scale cause pollution.
6. Therefore we should use other types of thread
instead of using Manja and buy only Paper Kites.
This can help to reduce the soil pollution.
7.
8. While celebrating holi the use of
colours containing harmful chemicals
cause rashes and other skin problems.
Many people waste lot of water in holi.
11. While celebrating Ganesh festival
people generally ignore environmental
impact of pollution on air, water, noise,
solid waste etc caused by various
activities performed in puja.
12. During this festival fireworks and crackers are used in
abundance by the devotees for expressing their happiness. This
leads to air pollution, as harmful gases and toxic substances like
barium, calcium, sodium, mercury, nitrates are released into
atmosphere.
13. In recent years, we have seen increased
awareness about water pollution caused by
visarjan i.e. immersion of Ganesh idols in lakes,
rivers and sea which are made out of Plaster of
Paris. It takes several months to totally dissolve
these idols into water.
14. Devotees celebrate the prestigious festival with all
possible means of loud music, which leads to an
increase in noise pollution
15. We should not
use Ganesh
idols of Plaster
of Paris and
keep balance
of our
environment
while
celebrating.
16.
17. As Durga Puja and Dussehra festivities concluded,
rivers and lakes once again became more polluted
following immersion of idols worshipped in puja
mandals across cities……. Every year, after Ganesh
Chaturthi and Durga puja the pollution levels in rivers
increases dramatically .
18. As the results
remedies for
awareness of Ganesh
Chaturthi and
Durga Puja are
generally same.
19.
20. In the festival of light pollution
increases due to firecrackers.
Recently in 2016 New Delhi’s air
pollution hit dangerous levels as
India celebrates diwali.
21. Say no to fireworks and plastic lanterns. ‘Prevention is better than cure.’
We get dieses due to this silly one minute enjoyments. So please stop
using fireworks and stop pollution. Instead of wasting money on
fireworks, if you donate that amount to the poor people then you
become one of the most memorable people in their life.
