Every month, around this time, it is very exciting for me as an editor, trying to take out another edition of what has now become established perhaps as the only magazine of its ilk: Parliamentarian. It is a challenge, since we have decided to tread a path that is not really uncharted, but has now been more or less consigned to the sidelines of Indian media history: journalism as good, erudite readers expect it to be. For the past few editions, there was a sense of concern, that in whatever issue we chose as the backbone of that month’s edition, the results, or reports that our esteemed experts – none of them on our staff, all known experts and all independent – handed us to print were all in the Black Hole region. Our central concern has been the progress of the country, and these reports put us back by decades under the current regime. So by the Black Hole region I mean that the gravitational suction power of negativity is such that not a ray of positive development gets past the “event horizon”. Not a speck of light can escape that internal suction of a moribund regime.

To begin with it’s nothing more than a publicity seeking practice for me. Returning “NATIONAL AWARDS” on the name of intolerance in the country is mere foolishness to me. Our country is an over-populated field with majority being under the literacy level off them. Making emotional fools off them is not that tough a task. Finance minister “ARUN JAITLEY” expressing his displeasure over such artists is understood, as he is a part of the ruling government but people like ANUPAM KHER, KAMAL HAASAN, CHETAN BHAGAT etc all jumping in is pretty funny to me. Publicity hungry people are on war with each other. Everybody wants to cash this situation.
- 2. Wife “KIRRON KHER” is already M.P. of CHANDIGARH, now hubby KHER g too wants a seat in the next elections? Could be a fact? Bad mouthing your own DIRECTOR and caring a dam for personal relations makes me say that. Yeah I’m referring returning of “KHOSLA KA GHOSLA” award by DIBAKAR. KAMAL HAASAN too joining the drama brigade by declining to give away his award. Where is the need to talk about this nonsense in front of the public? People returning the awards and those criticizing it are all on same side of the coin. There is nothing like intolerance in the country. Such situations were always part and parcel of living in this country. Much more important topics are available for debating.
- 3. Ruling party as well as the opposition is only interested in gaining more and more votes for themselves. BIHAR elections are on their hot list these days. Flop and jobless artists returning their awards to the government hardly matters to anybody. They are already forgotten and do not exist for anybody. Intolerance is a self created situation by some cheap elements of the society. History always had something in store to be labeled as non-tolerable. From the killings of JALLIAN WALA BAGH to the 84 riots, non tolerable situations were always there. Where were these writers then? Cashing situations for personal footage is cheap and 3rd class state of mind according to me. Worst are the people who are just praising the government for the purpose of only “CHAMCHAGIRI”. People like me would have never wasted my time on this pointless discussion if I was not forced by my friends, fans and followers to reveal the exact truth. Nothing is alarming in the country right now and for that case I don’t see any need of returning your awards and all that. But that doesn’t mean you start speaking against these rebels just for gaining media attention. PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TOWARDS LOT OTHER IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO IN LIFE. AUTHOR – AMIT DUTTA
