An insurance agent needed a way to direct clients to claims and payments when he was unavailable to answer calls. His old answering machine frustrated clients who had to write down additional numbers. The solution was an auto attendant that allowed callers to choose claims, payments, or leave a message. Clients were now satisfied without busy signals or waiting, and the agent could focus on clients instead of the answering machine.

It specifies that the agreement provides additional warranty and post-warranty service for Lenovo and some third-party machines. The agreement lasts 1-5 years depending on the part number purchased, and provides either on-site service within 50 miles of major metro areas or depot service where the machine is shipped for repair. It covers repairs to keep machines functioning per specifications but not accessories, supply items or damage from misuse or accidents. The agreement must be accepted to receive service, and can be cancelled for a refund within 30 days.

This document discusses different technologies for developing dynamic web content, including CGI/Perl, ASP, PHP, ColdFusion, Java applets, and JavaScript. CGI/Perl allows scripts to be run on the server and return output to the browser. ASP and PHP are scripting technologies that allow code to be embedded in web pages to generate dynamic content. ColdFusion is a web application development environment that processes CFML pages. Java applets run programs downloaded to the browser, while JavaScript code runs within HTML documents.
Crash Course in Perl – Perl tutorial for C programmersGil Megidish
Perl is an interpreted programming language created by Larry Wall in 1987. It has been in production longer than PHP, Java, and Ruby. Perl is loosely typed and supports scalars, arrays, hashes, and references. It has a large collection of modules available on CPAN that make it suitable for tasks ranging from databases to web development. Perl code is portable across operating systems and has a friendly community for support.
CGI (Common Gateway Interface) is an interface that allows a web server to launch external applications dynamically in response to requests. It defines standard communication variables between the web server and CGI programs. CGI programs can be written in any programming language and are executed by the web server to generate dynamic web page content on the fly based on request parameters and structured data. However, CGI has performance and security limitations due to creating new processes for each request.
The document discusses the history and use of computer generated imagery (CGI) in movies, from early uses in films like Star Wars to more modern applications. It covers how CGI has helped make certain sci-fi elements cheaper to create and boosted the popularity of big-budget sci-fi films. The document also examines techniques for creating realistic CGI characters and animation versus more cartoon-style animation.

1. Auto Attendant
Insurance Agent needs help answering calls
Challenge: An insurance agent called and needed a way to direct his clients to claims
and pay by phone service when he could not answer the calls. He was using an
antiquated answering machine and giving out busy signals to clients, who were growing
frustrated. The answering machine said ‘Please hang up and dial the toll free number
for claims’ and people were upset because they had to take the time to find a pen and
paper and write down another number to call.
Solution: I suggested that
the agent take advantage
of our personal customer
support and setup. We
customized an auto-
attendant that would pick
up on his phone after four
rings or if his rollover
lines were busy. When the
person got the auto
attendant, they could
choose an option to go
directly to claims (when the press ‘1’ we forward to the claims call center), press an
option for pay-by-phone, or press a third option to leave a message for the agent. When
the message was left, the agent was immediately notified with an email alert.
Results: The agent has so much more time to concentrate on his clients. His clients are
satisfied and happy that they no longer receive busy signals and they don’t have to wait
if they need to speak to claims, especially in an emergency situation. The insurance
agent threw his answering machine away, and uses us as his trusted method of routing
his clients to where they need to go.
