Este estudo investigou os determinantes do desmame precoce em crianças menores de dois anos no distrito Noroeste de Campinas, Brasil. Os resultados mostraram que 63,6% das crianças foram desmamadas precocemente antes dos seis meses de idade, e que a introdução precoce de leite não materno foi o principal preditor do desmame precoce. O tempo de estudo materno também esteve associado ao desmame precoce.
