Chrome plating operations
Austchrome is the only business in
Mackay and Central Queensland that has
the capacity and expertise to undertake
chrome plating of very large components.
Our chrome tanks are able to handle
a wide range of hydraulic cylinder
rods, shafts, and suspension type
componentry.
We process both new and used hydraulic
cylinder rods and other engineering
related componentry by utilising key
processes of plating, grinding and
polishing.
Hydraulic cylinder repairs
Austchrome repairs and overhauls small
to very large hydraulic cylinders, cylinder
chroming, rod straightening, resealing,
and pressure testing.
We have invested in the latest machinery
to accommodate the largest cylinders in
the market, and ensure our customers
are provided with high quality, fast
turnaround times, and lower costs.
Our hydraulic assembly and testing
facility maintains ISO4406 for superior
contamination control outcomes. This
international standard ensures hydraulic
cylinder groups that are assembled
and tested at our facility are free of
contaminants that can greatly reduce the
working life of a cylinder assembly, and
increase customer costs over time.
Our hydraulic engineering division also
provides NATA certified failure analysis
services.
Machining services
Austchrome provides unmatched, large
capacity turning, horizontal boring,
vertical boring and milling services
including new high quality computer
numerical control (CNC) machines.
Thermal spray
Austchrome is the only business in
Central Queensland that offers high
velocity oxygen fuel (HVOF), arc spray
and plasma transferred arc (PTA) coatings
which can be used for cost saving repairs
on an extensive range of componentry
for the mining, civil, marine and sugar
industries.
