It was about 15 miles west-southwest of Cabo Gracias a Dios on the Nicaragua-Honduras border and about 60 miles north of Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua. Hanna had maximum sustained winds of 40 mph and was moving west at 7 mph.

It warns of Tropical Depression One-E located near 11.0N 110.4W, which is forecast to strengthen into a hurricane over the period. Wind speeds up to 85 knots and wave heights up to 22 feet are expected within 270 nautical miles of the storm's center. Other areas are forecast to see winds of 20 knots or less and wave heights below 8 feet.
