Founding statement
Alternative Solutions and Technologies is a new company established by a committed, highly
experienced and motivated individual who identified cabling, networking, wireless, Security and
recently civil and construction opportunities in the following areas:
a) Telephone, PABX and single line services
b) Networking
c) Underground cable construction services: Cable jointing and hauling, trenching excavations
and pipe lying.
d) Security: CCTV, Access control, Electrified fencing, Security beams and alarm systems.
e) Civil and construction services: Manhole construction, Aluex installation, Paving and Kerbing.
f) Networking: Data and Voice
The decision to pursue into these areas stems from the FACT that,
- Collectively the management team and members contribute 45+ years’ experience in the
telecommunications, structured cabling and networking environment.
- All employees are highly skilled trained and dedicated.
- Majority of resources are readily available.
- Strong relationships with Technology suppliers, resellers and partners.
The ethos at AST (Alternative Solutions and Technologies) of commitment to long term relationships
with customers, technology suppliers and partners regardless of geographical location and
committed to “customer satisfaction guarantee” principles through our highly skilled personnel,
reflects our long term goal in the industry.
About Us
AST is an innovative supplier of infrastructure services for IT and Communication Technology (ICT)
networks in existing as well as emerging markets. Our reputation as a reliable, efficient and effective
solutions provider, leads the company from residential to corporate customer referrals.
Our knowledge and experience includes, telephony installations and maintenance, underground and
overhead copper and fibre optic cabling, splicing, jointing and hauling, convergence of network
infrastructure, LAN, WAN and WLAN Architectures, structured cabling, cat5e and 6 network
installations and maintenance, wireless communications, Network systems Integration Services,
Access control and CCTV.
AST is proud of the fact that recently, we added the supply of office products, equipment and
furniture as a value added service to our customers.

Staffing and structure
AST has a permanent staff compliment of 6 employees including its members and could easily
extend its staffing by partnering with competent, trusted and skilled organisations in the ICT
environment. The members and management of AST have held senior technical and managerial
positions in large corporates; hence they are actively involved in the management, growth and
technical support of the organisation including training and development.
We believe that the cornerstone of our organisation is in the efficiency of our employees, thus our
focus areas are on multi-skilling all our employees.

AST consists of 100% BEE equity holding and wherever possible affirmable business enterprises
(ABE’s) are appointed to do sub-contracting on our behalf. AST maintains its responsibility with its
customers and personally project manages all its contracts.

Our BEE certificate is still pending.

Milestones

Agency (JDA).
We are currently contracted on CCTV and LAN installations for RVI and Extreme Business
