This document discusses assessing underserved students' engagement in high-impact educational practices. It explores the connection between these practices and student success using both quantitative and qualitative approaches. The quantitative approach analyzes data from the National Survey of Student Engagement to examine relationships between high-impact practices and student outcomes. The qualitative approach involves focus groups with underserved students at nine campuses to understand their experiences in these practices from their perspectives. The goal is to provide guidance to help improve learning and promote success for underserved students.
