A study found that 94% of people in Britain would be unable to help an Asian person with blood cancer through a bone marrow transplant because they are not Asian. For Asian people with blood cancer, a transplant from an Asian donor often provides the best chance of survival. The document encourages young Asian people aged 16-30 to register as bone marrow donors, as they currently make up just 6% of donors in the UK who could help save the lives of Asian people with blood cancer.
