Summary
I am a turn-key employee who has the experience to begin work immediately. I possess an
energetic personality and have the desire to be successful in all aspects of my career. I offer a
high level of communication both written and verbal. I am very organized professional who takes
control without extra needed guidance. I continually show the ability to analyze problems, and
find creative solutions. I take initiative, and seek out resources necessary for successful conflict
resolution, and decision making. I've had a successful ten years as sales professional who
consistently exceeded sales goals and objectives while staying within my assigned budget.
I started shooting when I was in my early twenties when my husband introduced me to firearms. I
fell in love with shooting immediately. Soon after that, I knew that I wanted a career in the
shooting sports industry. I relentlessly pursued a position at one of the top firearm wholesaler in
my home town. They gave me an opportunity, and my career in the shooting sports industry
began. I was promoted to sales within six months, and after three years with that company, I
pursued a new career with Remington Outdoor Company.
Working at Remington for the last seven years, I have flourished and had a wonderfully
successful career with Remington. I was awarded the Merchandiser of the Year Award,
Ammunition Salesperson of the year (only woman in Remington history), and most recently being
promoted to the Press Relations and Marketing team in a brand new role as the Women’s
Initiatives Manager. During this role I sharpened my skills both on and behind camera, directing,
interviewing and participating in shooting/hunting programs.
It’s hard for me to believe how far I’ve come in my journey since setting my goal of working in the
industry I truly adore. I am excited for the next phase of my shooting sports career.
Introducing women to shoot, and educate them on the proper firearm safety. All done with a
female flare that helps the women feel comfortable. The techniques are memorable, to help them
always remember safety, and form. There are few greater joys than helping a fellow woman get
over her fear, and become a well-rounded shooter.

Women of Remington Outdoor Company: Ashley Kerr
Posted by: Women's Outdoor News , March 8, 2015
We love this story of how a young woman, Ashley Kerr, achieves her dream of working in the outdoor industry. As part of
our series on “Women of Remington Outdoor Company,” we hope to encourage and inspire a new round of outdoor
enthusiasts to go after those dreams of doing what they love — every day at work.

It’s hard for me to believe how far I’ve come in my journey since setting my goal of working in the industry I truly adore.
Having said that, my new role as Women’s Initiatives Manager is both exciting and challenging. We are breaking
ground with our efforts to create a safe, welcoming environment for ladies to become informed and trained with
firearms. Another area we are focusing on is for us to provide products that will have many adaptable features that
women are asking for.

Throughout the year Remington Outdoor Company will be hosting training events that will be hosted by women, for
women, and instructed by women. It’s a great joy of mine to coach ladies through their first shots; it’s a moment that will
be with them forever just as my first shot was.
Our goal for training contains a method that involves a safe, welcoming, environment with straight-forward instruction; not
only the basics of stance, grip, etc. but being able to diagnose their own targets allowing them to continue to improve
when they are on their own.
(Remington Outdoor Company photo)
Most importantly the excitement of introducing ladies to the shooting sports is all about having a safe, fun, educational,
welcoming environment to assist them on their journey to become skilled shooters. I truly love my job and I am excited to
be a part of an initiative that allows me to do just that. The future of women in the shooting sports is brighter now than
ever and I am proud to be part of it.

THE REMINGTON EXPERIENCE IN SAN ANTONIO
On: May 31, 2015 By:Robyn Sandoval Posted in HQ, Vendors

By Lisa Pepi, AG & AG Member
On May 22, 2015, the San Antonio chapter of A Girl and A Gun (AG & AG) had the amazing opportunity to participatein a shotgun and rifle
demonstration hosted by Jessica Kallam, Manager for Media Relations for Remington Outdoor Company, and Ashley Kerr, Manager for their
Women’s Initiative. The Remington Women’s Initiative is the result of the conscious corporate decision to proactively lead the effort to learn the
specific needs of thefemale shooting community and to work on a solution that will address these needs.
It is important to me to tell theunderlying story of the amazing customer service demonstrated by Jessica and Ashley as the driving force behind the
Remington Women’s Initiative. The San Antonio AG & AG Remington Experience began earlier this year in February when our chapter was invited
to participatein a focus group hosted by the Remington Women’s Initiative. This was our chance to let a major gun manufacturer know that thereis
much more to thefemale shooter’s needs than pink guns and “shoot like a girl” apparel. Our group jumped at theopportunity and spent several hours
articulating theunique needs of a lady shooter. Theconversation then turned to marketing ideas and once again thegroup shared our thoughts on the

lack of understanding of what it takes to appealto thefemale shooting community. One of the suggestions that was mentioned was that it would be
worthwhile to host demo days to allow their target market to “try beforeyou buy.”I am not sure if this demo day was a direct result of that
recommendation, but I think it is safe to assume that it is a result of Jessica and Ashley taking our suggestions to heart. As an added bonus each,
participant received a case of the ammo of their choice – a totally unexpected, but welcome surprise.
Fast forward two months and I once again ran into Jessica and Ashley as they were demonstrating Remington guns at the AG & AG National
Conference in April. I personally was looking forward to shooting the Remington Versa Max Competition Tactical shotgun and was disappointed
when I was told that it was not available to demo. In the effort to keep an open mind, I did shoot the model of the Versa Max that Remington had
brought to theconference, but I am sure my disappointment was obvious. Jessica then made a promise that she was going to find a way to let me try
the Versa Max Comp Tactical and phonenumbers were exchanged so that she could look me up when she was in San Antonio in the near future. To
be honest, I had professional skepticismthat I would ever hear from her again; thankfully I was proven wrong. Jessica sent me a text in early May
with the offer to stop in San Antonio on her way home from New Mexico on the weekend of May 23rd to keep her commitment. The invitation was
also opened up to the rest of the San Antonio chapter. Remington supplied all of theguns and ammo for the demo and our local range, A Place to
Shoot, graciously made their shotgun and rifle ranges available to our group free of charge.
Over the course of 3 hours theladies of Remington bonded with the AG & AG shooters through a combination of expert guidance and the
opportunity to just havefun with their impressive selection of rifles and shotguns. The selection of guns included the Versa Max Competition
Tactical, Versa Max Tactical, Versa Max Woodtech, theRemington R-15 MOE, Bushmaster ACR FDEand the870 Tactical Magpulpump-action
shotgun. Thanks to this opportunity I was able to shoot clay targets (Country Doubles) for the first time and, with thecombined coaching of Ashley
and Jessica, I was able to shoot my first bulls’ eyeat 100 yards using the R-15. Even Texas weather cooperated as theforecasted thunder storms
failed to appear.
We have all been taught that actions speak louder than words and the actions of the ladies of Remington speak louder than any written corporate
mission statement could ever communicate. The message I took away from this experience is that the ladies of theRemington Women’s Initiative are
fully committed to the female shooting community and are passionateabout finding a way to give us both the respect and the p roducts wehave been
lacking. Remington also deserves to be recognized for their ability to see that this is an endeavor that needs to be approached in a holistic manner
beginning with the design of the gun and not just a modification of theappearance of a gun.
I encourage the ladies of A Girl & A Gun to show our support for thecompany that is willing to take a chance on the female shooting community
through the investment of substantialtime and resources into theRemington Women’s Initiative. If we are not able to demonstrate that we are able to
collectively support awomen specific initiative, we may never be taken seriously by thegun manufacturing industry.
I am honored to have met and been able to get to know Jessica and Ashley and I am convinced that we will be seeing some great things coming from
the ladies of Remington in the near future.
Remington Targets Women Shooters
By Robert Farago on April 13, 2015
“In the gun world, there are obvious women’s guns,” wkrn.com pronounces, without
revealing which firearms qualify for the double-X chromosome set. It’s a good question: what IS a
woman’s gun? We asked our readers that very thing last month in Question of the Day: Is There Such
a Thing As A “Woman’s Gun”?. Some 98 members of TTAG’s Armed Intelligentsia weighed-in without

obvious consensus, and a lot of obvious snark. Our friends at Remington hit the NRA convention in
Nashville in search of answers . . .
“There needs to be a distinction in firearms for men and women,” explained Ashley Kerr who works
for Remington. “That’s one of the big things we’re doing here at Ladies Zone, we’re encouraging
ladies to stop by and give us their feedback.”
The Ladies Zone is a new launch by Remington that’s tapping into a market that’s largely been
ignored.
“We’ve been conforming to male designed firearms for a while, and we want to get the feedback.
What is it about this rifle that we could change that would really help you?” Kerr said.
With the feedback it gets this week, Remington will begin designing new rifles and handguns for
women and others who are looking for guns that aren’t necessarily marketed toward male gun
owners.
“We really want to make something that’s well-rounded but in order to do that we need to get a ladies
feedback and what they’re needing,” said Kerr. “We seem to know what the gentlemen are wanting
but we need to know what the ladies are wanting as well.”
