This document outlines the curriculum for a 12th grade apprenticeship in performing arts (theater). The course is 160 hours and focuses on placing students with practicing artists or theater organizations for hands-on training. Students will also have the option to produce their own show under a director. The curriculum covers origins of drama, theater elements and history, theatrical forms and styles, skill development including acting, design and directing, and performing improvised and scripted scenes. Assessment is based on analyzing, differentiating and performing elements of theater from various traditions and cultures.
