Contacting the artist to seek permission to use there song Hello For our music video we have to have a music track playing in the background, the reason for this is that with out music it would not be a music video and more of a video. So in order for us to use our chosen music track we have to seek permission from the artist and record company to use the music track because it will be coverers by copyright and if found out I could be fined mega money which as a 17 year old I do not have. So to make sure I have tried to contact the artist in three ways by Email, Facebook and by letter. These three ways are to make sure that the artist know I want to use there song and hopefully give me permission. If I get no reply from the artist I will assume that they do not mind me using there song. Below shows screen shots and pictures of the three methods.

Above I have posted this letter of permission on the official Offspring Facebook wall and shows that they will be able to read it and it will be brought to there attention as they will have a notification when they next log in. To make sure that some one get the message I have also put it on Columbia records face book page who are the offspring recording producers. Facebook

4. Email The above screen shots shows an email to Columbia records requesting permission to use the offsprings song the kids aren't alright. Columbia records are the producers for the offsprings, I was going to write an email to the offspring but I was unable to find an email address.

Letter I have written a letter on Word to send to Columbia records and the offspring, I was unable to find an address for the offspring so I have sent there letter to Columbia records but I have wrote for the attention of the Offspring to make sure they know the Letter is for them. They will be sent out tomorrow morning but first class post, and then I will wait for a reply. Below is a screen shot of the letter that will be sent out tomorrow morning. Conclusion Ok so that is all I can really do for the moment and I will keep you posted if I get any confirmation of receiving any of the forms of contact and I will also keep you posted on the outcome.
