2. About Cathy Jacobs
She is a young Australian artist.
She started painting as a hobby at an early age.
She studied commerce and then worked as a lawyer for
seven years (~2002-2009).
She returned to university to get her masters degree in
Early Childhood Education.
She works as a kindergarten teacher.
In 2012 she began to develop as an artist and started
selling her work online.
She now runs her own ‘visual arts’ business and sells
custom made art in many places around the world.
*Note: Since she is a newer artist there is not much
information about the history and/or progression of her art*
3. Her Work Overview
she paints birds, flowers, trees, and animals on canvas
with acrylic and watercolour paints.
Her work has vibrant colours, irregular and geometric
shapes (circle), flowing lines (tree branches), and usually a
smooth texture
She makes collages with her paintings and photographs
She uses recycled math books to create some of her art
(animal rhymes)
She makes Andy Warhol style and Japanese style art
She uses prints of her paintings to make custom made
IPod cases/ skins, IPhone cases/skins, IPad cases/skins,
laptop cases, stationary cards, clothing, throw pillows, tote
bags, wall clocks, mugs, shower curtains, and duvet covers
