The third annual Mar Vista Green Garden Showcase will take place on April 30th, featuring 84 sustainable gardens in the Mar Vista neighborhood that showcase features like water capture, composting, drought-resistant landscaping, and edible gardens. The event aims to be an "eco-festival" where neighborhood gardens will be open to the public. Two residents, Kristina and Claude Shires, who moved to Mar Vista three years ago hoping to establish a sustainable home, will open their edible garden which has added solar panels and timed sprinklers. The showcase hopes to highlight sustainable features homeowners have added to their properties each year.

The Mar Vista Community Council would like to extend our support to the Los Angeles Business

The LABC/UCLA Solar FiT program has already attracted the strong support of organizations
representing business, labor, the environment and numerous communities from around the city. We are pleased to join this extensive coalition of supporters because we believe the program offers great environmental and economic benefits for Los Angeles and its residents.
