The document describes how to calculate the area of a circle by representing it as a rectangle. The height of the rectangle is equal to the radius of the circle, while the width is half the circumference. While cutting out pieces of a circle to form a rectangle was challenging, representing the circle as a rectangle made calculating its area easier to complete.

2. Process We can make an area of a circle in two ways: as a circle, and as a rectangle (as shown in the diagram).

3. Process: Step 2 The height of the rectangle, is equal to the radius of the circle. The width of the rectangle, equals half the circumference of the circle.

4. Challenges Cutting out the pieces of the circle and putting them in ‘rectangle’ form was a huge challenge for us. It was then a lot easier for us to complete the challenge.
