Windows per floor Ben K., Ben D. ,Jack T. Due date: Wednesday 11 th march 2009
Introduction We are researching how many windows per floor are in the Zug campus of ISZL.
Why We chose this topic because this might come in handy one day for the school if they were to do a renovation or to add more windows .
How First we collected the data by walking around the school counting the number of windows on each of the five buildings , we had to go into Mr. Smith room because his class was impossible to see from the out side.
Results Building/Floors Windows A-1 4 a0 15 a1 8 p0 73 r0 56 r1 15 r2 15 Building /Floors Windows W-1 W0 23 36 w1 38 w2 23 w3 12 w4 8 o0 15 o1 13 o2 7
Another way of displaying data
Mean and mode The mean is 22.11764706 We got this answer by adding all the numbers to gether. We then divided it by the number of numbers there were. The mode is 15 We got this answer because most of the floors had 15 windows when we counted.
Median and range The median is 15 We got 15 by counting in from the highest number and the lowest number and in the middle was 15. The range is 69 We got this answer by subtracting our lowest number from the highest number.
What we learned We learned that all five buildings have a total of 367 windows and what the mean, median mode and average of windows there are in the school
What others could learn from this Other people could learn about how to calculate the mean median mode and range . They could also learn that the school has 376 windows.
