It outlines a small research project comparing conventions of genres like action, sci-fi and fantasy to conventions of superhero films. As evidence, it references two critically acclaimed superhero films, The Dark Knight and Man of Steel, as well as the subversive superhero film Kick-Ass, and concludes that superhero films have evolved into their own genre.
