apart from waterprotection and coloring, the Parky bevels are treated with anti bacteria and fire retardant.
Therefore the exceptional and outstanding B certificate for fire rating.
WW1 the great war. It happened 100 years ago, here, in the backyardDominiek Frees
World War 1 was fought from 1914 to 1918 across Europe. The battles in Passendale from 1914 to 1918 took place in muddy conditions filled with rats and resulted in many deaths. By 1918 at Ypres, everything on the surface had been destroyed and the war was continuing underground in secret tunnels dug below the battlefields.
This document discusses types of high density fibreboard (HDF) flooring panels. It specifies that Zero Parky Deluxe flooring uses natural glues and has non added urea formaldehyde (NAUF), meaning a minor amount of urea formaldehyde remains naturally. It also details the water resistance and swelling percentages of different Parky-branded flooring models, as well as density and pressing time specifications for fast pressed HDF flooring that is floorboard quality (FQ) certified versus non-floorboard quality.
The document provides a timeline of key events in Britain from the 1940s to the 1990s. In the 1940s, World War 2 ended and Frank Sinatra was a popular singer. The 1950s saw the rise of Elvis Presley and the establishment of NASA. The 1960s brought British rock bands like the Beatles to fame and the first moon landing. In the 1970s, Grease was a popular musical and disco music emerged. The 1980s were marked by Prince Charles and Princess Diana's wedding. Finally, the 1990s saw the rise of the Spice Girls and the invention of the World Wide Web.
The document discusses the Par-ky Lounge Smoked Walnut 26.000 sqm flooring that was supplied and installed by MTE Dubai at the Mövenpick Oceana Resort & Spa in Dubai. Some key details include that the resort is located on Palm Jumeirah opposite the Golden Mile Shopping Boulevard, has 187 guest rooms and suites including executive rooms and a private club lounge, and 137 service apartments for long-stay guests. The walnut flooring was installed floating on a foam underlay and features a UV blocking pigment and bevels on the long sides to emphasize the length of the boards.
The document summarizes the key factors that influenced the peace treaties ending World War I and the reactions to the treaties. The major powers - Britain, France, US - met at the Paris Peace Conference in 1919 to determine the fate of the defeated Central Powers and colonies. The treaties punished Germany severely and redrew borders in Europe, creating new countries but denying independence to colonies. This led to resentment from Germany and other affected countries and colonies, which some argue sowed the seeds for World War II.
- German troops invade Poland, starting World War II in Europe.
- In 1943, Allied leaders Winston Churchill and Franklin Roosevelt meet at the Casablanca Conference to discuss plans for invading Europe, agreeing to first invade Italy.
- In 1944, the massive Allied invasion of German-occupied Western Europe, known as Operation Overlord or D-Day, begins with the Normandy landings, marking a major turning point in the war.
The document provides an overview of World War 1, including its causes such as militarism, alliances, and imperialism. It describes the major events and theaters of the war, from the initial Schlieffen Plan to the trench warfare on the Western Front. It also highlights the massive human costs of the war, with over 9 million soldiers killed and many civilian casualties due to new military technologies and a worldwide flu pandemic in 1918.

The document discusses the benefits of meditation for reducing stress and anxiety. Regular meditation practice can help calm the mind and body by lowering heart rate and blood pressure. Making meditation a part of a daily routine, even if just 10-15 minutes per day, can offer improvements to mood, focus, and overall well-being over time.
10 YEAR TIME LAPSE Par-ky veneer engineered woodfloor with 0.6 mm wear layerDominiek Frees
upon Bertils' request for a woodfloor 10 years timelapse, i quickly made up this one. Actually the floor is now in use since 12 years. There is a big scratch in the middle of the floor since day one. The scratch was my mistake but both my wife and especially my mother in law blamed the floor. Now, 12 years, a few dogs, they have both forgotten about that.
This document discusses factors to consider when selecting flooring materials, including structural suitability, thermo resistance, esthetic suitability, and urea formaldehyde emissions. It provides details on parameters like bonding strength, temperature resistance, warping, and moisture swelling for different materials like laminate, plywood, and high density fiberboard. The best options are mentioned to have thermo resistance over 0.15 m2K/W, minimal warping, and low urea formaldehyde emissions within regulations.
Aquaseal Complete is more than just but some color:
1. seal against water (in combination with Uniclic it is pretty good)
2. color
3. generates a solid look
4. anti bacteria (after we encountered a case where mushrooms grew in the bevel. The hotel manager did not bother)
5. fire retartand (instead of the flame damaging up to 260 mm far, it now damages up to 200 only: Class B)
Floor heating can cause issues for wood floors such as warping and gaps between boards due to uneven heating from hot and cold spots. Proper insulation is needed under wood floors for floor heating systems to prevent thermal resistance from being too high and causing temperature differences that damage the flooring. A butter test can demonstrate the effects of hot and cold spots on wood.

A terrorist attack occurred at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai, India between November 26-29, 2008. The hotel suffered damage but reopened its heritage wing on August 15, 2010 for India's Independence Day. The Taj Mahal Palace Hotel has hosted many notable guests over the years, including heads of state, royalty, celebrities, and musicians. It underwent renovations in 2010 that included replacing 2,000 square meters of flooring with Santos Palissander and Chocolate Oak.
installations started in 2009 but rolled out throughout 2010 and 2011 mainly. Poltronesofà did all the installations with their own team under supervision of Parkitalia, Milan.

better than banning precious woodspecies for import into the west (i.e. pushing them toward processors in China) is to minimise wood dimensions (thin, short and narrow) and applying them for decorational purposes only. Veneer engineered woodfloor are therefore by principle sustainable. Especially when FSC certified.
Keeping wooden floors in good shape on carshows or motorshows is a particular matter. Apart from tires leaving black marks (therefore refrain from oiled finishes), some lacquers discolor when exposed to weakeners inside of the tires. Traffic wise, since traffic is clean, the quantity is irrelevant. The issue is indentations caused by worn out stilhetto heels or moving furniture objects. The thinner the wood toplayer and the denser the HDF core surface density, the more the floor will look new for a longer while.
installation of veneered panels in new constructions upon remote locations is often a pain in the neck: bubbles, scratches, non consistent gloss levels, lacquer defects. Classic defects that make all the hard work of grading and selecting nice veneer useless.
Shinnoki comes in mixed matched veneer gradings, mildly stained, mildly UV blocked, matt lacquered and covered with a protective transparant foil. This allows the builder to process real wood panels as if they were melamine. Also when reordering, consistent panels in color, pattern and lacquer finish are avaible. Even more, the same is available in Parky for flooring.
Floor was installed in 2007 by L Decor, Mumbai. By coincidence we dropped along last week, Oct 2012. There was a problem with the floor after the wine cooler leaked. It got repaired easily and till now, the floor looks like new. At Taj, especially on the executives floor, a solid engineered woodfloor would have warped. Laminate floors look too much like a cheap kitchen table.
Parky Lounge Sucupira was a 175,000 square meter project in 2007-2008 that involved the supply and installation of materials. The project encompassed a large area and timeframe, focusing on providing supplies and completing installations.
Makassar Ebony is a valuable type of ebony known for its intense black color and high density. It comes from trees that can take 20 years to fully darken their heartwood. During the 17th century, the Dutch harvested Makassar Ebony in Sulawesi, Indonesia, initially for shipbuilding due to its strength, and later French used it for luxury furniture. After centuries of overharvesting, ebony species are now threatened, and import restrictions and imitation ebony are commonly used instead.

Rethinking Kållered │ From Big Box to a Reuse Hub: A Transformation Journey ...SirmaDuztepeliler
"Rethinking Kållered │ From Big Box to a Reuse Hub: A Transformation Journey Toward Sustainability"
The booklet of my master’s thesis at the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology. (Gothenburg, Sweden)
This thesis explores the transformation of the vacated (2023) IKEA store in Kållered, Sweden, into a "Reuse Hub" addressing various user types. The project aims to create a model for circular and sustainable economic practices that promote resource efficiency, waste reduction, and a shift in societal overconsumption patterns.
Reuse, though crucial in the circular economy, is one of the least studied areas. Most materials with reuse potential, especially in the construction sector, are recycled (downcycled), causing a greater loss of resources and energy. My project addresses barriers to reuse, such as difficult access to materials, storage, and logistics issues.
Aims:
• Enhancing Access to Reclaimed Materials: Creating a hub for reclaimed construction materials for both institutional and individual needs.
• Promoting Circular Economy: Showcasing the potential and variety of reusable materials and how they can drive a circular economy.
• Fostering Community Engagement: Developing spaces for social interaction around reuse-focused stores and workshops.
• Raising Awareness: Transforming a former consumerist symbol into a center for circular practices.
Highlights:
• The project emphasizes cross-sector collaboration with producers and wholesalers to repurpose surplus materials before they enter the recycling phase.
• This project can serve as a prototype for reusing many idle commercial buildings in different scales and sizes.
• The findings indicate that transforming large vacant properties can support sustainable practices and present an economically attractive business model with high social returns at the same time.
• It highlights the potential of how sustainable practices in the construction sector can drive societal change.
