This document outlines the requirements for a research plan at K L University. It specifies that the research plan should include: 1) Details of the engineering discipline, major research area, and minor research area. 2) A research proposal containing an introduction, need and importance of the problem, objectives, scope, methodology, and limitations. 3) A calendar projecting milestones and effort in man months. 4) Details of any expected laboratory setup including hardware, software, and network components. 5) Lists of primary textbooks, journals, and digital libraries expected to be referred to.

RESEARCH PLAN
Each Application shall submit the Research Plan containing the following
particulars.
1.0 Research Identification

2.0 Research Proposal
A Research Proposal shall be submitted containing the following details
2.1 Introduction
The introduction must clearly bring out theoretical foundation leading to the
problem definition
2.2 The need and importance of the problem
The importance of the research problem from the perspective of an end customer
(Industry, Country, Society, Citizen etc. must be clearly out lined).
2.3 Objectives of the Research
The objectives of the research must clearly spell out various research outcomes
2.4 Scope of the Research
The scope of the research must clearly spell out various dimensions of
investigation of the research problem to the extent possible.
2.5 Methodology
The methodology that shall be used to investigate the research problem shall be
detailed. The methodology should clearly spell out the processes that shall be
used in conducting the research which include data collection, experimental
setups, verification and validations, comparative analysis, Data Analysis,
Statistical analysis etc.

2.6 Limitations
The restrictions on the scope of the research project shall be spelt out here.
