Anzac Day By: Nancy
What Is Anzac Day… On the 25th of April, Anzac day occurs. Anzac day is to remind us about the courage and the sacrifice the Australian and New Zealand soldiers made at war.
ANZAC stands for Australian New Zealand Army Corp and is probably one of Australia’s most important national occasions. The Anzacs fought in Gallipoli (in Turkey) and many Australian soldiers were killed.
On Anzac day, which is a public holiday in most parts in Australia and New Zealand, people brings flowers and such to memorials or graves to those soldiers. It is traditional that we turn and face west, to where the sun sets, and have a one-minute silence for them. Lest we forget..

A Beginning…. War first started when Germany declared war on the whole British Empire. And When The Australian Prime minister heard, Australia had joined in too.

Under-age Registration There were people too young to join and lied their way into the army. People 18 and over (which is also a very young age to be to go to war) are able to join
Anzac Uniform Anzacs
Most joined for the money they were awarded to be on the army. In other words, people were lured into joining the army. It was said to be easy, and they would be greatly paid, no-one truly mentioned about deaths.

Australia first landed in Gallipoli on 25 th of April 1915, the backpacks were heavy and people were killed before they even got of the boat..
The ANZACS finally left during 1915, December and Australia lost at least 59,000 people in the war.
