2. Challenge
You are to independently research the following
camera angles and movements and create a
visual representation, as well as a description of
how the technique is used within the film
industry.

3. Camera Angle: Close Up

Close ups are used to show emotion in a person and also used to
make people stay focused on a persons face which would work
well when telling a serious message.

4. Camera Angle: Establishing Shot

Establishing shots are usually used to represent a new scene and
can show the audience where the new scene is taking place.

5. Camera Angle: Extreme wide shot

Extreme wide shots is when the shot is really far away from the
subject that they aren’t even visible. It’s used to show the
surrounding.

6. Camera Angle: Wide shot

A wide shot shows the full body of the subject. It’s the closest it
can get without loosing any part of their body off screen.

7. Camera Angle: Mid shot

The mid shot shows more detail and is normally displaying the torso,
head and arms. With this shot there is more room for free hand
movements and slight body movements.

8. Camera Angle: Medium close up

A medium close up is a shot that’s halfway between a mid shot
and a close up. It shows the face more clearly.

9. Camera Angle: Extreme close up

An extreme close up shows a lot of detail but it too close to show
emotion except in dramatic scenes.

10. Camera Angle: Cutaway

A cutaway is a shot of something different from the current
action being done.

11. Camera Angle: Two-shot

This is the shot where it shows two people in the same shot

12. Camera Angle: Over the shoulder

This angle is usually used when the subject is talking and they
use the over the shoulder technique. In filming they alternate
between who’s speaking in the conversation.

13. Camera Angle: Point of view (POV)

This is used to show the subject’s perspective of the film and
edited to make it obvious to who’s perspective it is.

14. Camera Movement: Tracking

These types of shots are used to show the character using a track
with a camera attached to the track, following the subject.

15. Camera Movement: Tilt

A tilt is when the camera moves up or down to be tilting the
camera but tilting is less common as we look left and right more
than we look up and down.

16. Camera Movement: Zoom

This movement is used to focus on a certain subject or even on
an object which can show more detail just like in the close up
and extreme close up shots.

17. Rules of Framing
Detailed explanation:
Rules of Framing is basically how you frame a film by using the
different types of shots like mentioned previously. Framing is
essential in media and in other places like in still life
photography.
How am I used in a film?
Frames are made up of the shots that were previously
mentioned and all those would make up the whole film.

18. The rules of third
Detailed explanation:
A rule of third is where a frame is split into nine imaginary lines
and creates reference points in helping how to frame the image.
How am I used in a film?
The rule is used to help get everything framed right. For example
a person shot would take up a third of the frame.
