Profile
Extremely hard worker, enthusiastic about my work and always willing and dedicated when tackling new
challenges. During my career I have developed into a well-rounded engineer, capable of serving in a
cross functional role across various departments including Design and Applications Engineering.
Confident in complex calculations and producing/reviewing design reports using CAD software.
Extensive knowledge of industry standards, namely ASME and have had exposure to BS and RCCM
standard.
Career History
Feb 2016 – Present Cascade Technologies
Feb 2016 - Present
Applications Engineer
I moved to Cascade Technologies to work originally as an assembly and test technician to gain
experience in the detection industry and give me the product knowledge required to work within
applications.
This broadened my horizons as an engineer and gave me much more in depth electrical understanding
to compliment my mechanical background. The main work that I carried out was assembly and test for
aerosol leak detection which involved aligning and optimising various lasers dependent on the propellant
being used.
I have also been heavily involved in the development and testing work for the next line of aerosol leak
detectors, working closely with the design team to ensure the product is functional but also has
improved serviceability to the last model.
Aug 2011 – Jan 2016 SPX Flow ClydeUnion Pumps
Aug 2015 – Jan 2016
Applications Engineer
Following the end of apprenticeship, hired into a contract role within Application Engineering to take
advantage of extensive knowledge of pump systems. Responsible for the tendering of new and existing
contracts with a range of daily duties outlined below.
 Gained an in depth understanding of not only pumps but other aspects of the complete package i.e.
motors, motor driving methods, bearing lubrication methods, pipework, valves and filters
 Self-managed daily workload, balancing multiple customer requirements simultaneously
 Managing both customers and suppliers via email/phone as well as face to face
 Understanding customer requirements, reviewing specifications and making recommendations on
the solution required and the financial implications of design changes
 Offering solutions to customers based on their needs, proposing materials changes and retrofit of
parts
 Establishing quotes for materials, lead time estimations and ensuring accurate pricing and
scheduling information
 Final decision making capability on every commercial and technical tender that I provided to the
customer.

Hobbies and Interests
Out with my working life I maintain an interest in engineering, recently taking up a voluntary role with
IMechE, as media officer for the SRC. From a young age I have had a keen interest in how things are
developed/manufactured and how they work which has only been developed through time in industry.
In my free time I am extremely active. I am a volunteer coach for Tae Kwon-Do, trained since I was 5,
and my commitment paid off as I got black belt at age 13. I also enjoy going to my local gym, and
playing five and seven-a-side football.
