Andres Bonifacio was a Filipino revolutionary hero born on November 30, 1863. After both of his parents died in the 1870s, he left school to support his five siblings. He joined Jose Rizal's Liga Filipina in 1892, but formed the secret revolutionary organization Katipunan later that year after Rizal was arrested and exiled. The Katipunan was discovered by authorities in August 1896 and Bonifacio was later arrested and executed for treason by rival revolutionary leader Emilio Aguinaldo on May 10, 1897.
