1. ANC VHEMBE STATEMENT ON THE OUTCOMES OF ITS SPECIAL REGIONAL
GENERAL COUNCIL
ANC Vhembe region convened its special regional general council on Saturday the
12th of February as mandated by the provincial executive committee, to consider the
roadmap as well as guidelines to the 10th provincial conference.
The RGC received and discussed a wide-ranging political input presented by the
Deputy Provincial Secretary, Cde Biskop Makamu. It further reflected on
fundamental organizational issues, including but not limited to, unity and cohesion;
leadership and the journey traversed since the last provincial conference.
In this regard the RGC commended the leadership of Provincial Chairperson Cde
Stanley Chupu Mathabatha and collective for building a solid and united province,
and a stable provincial and local government administration.
ON LEADERSHIP
The RGC resolved that going to the provincial conference it will be prudent to adopt
the principle of continuity, change and generational mix in the composition of the
provincial leadership collective, and therefore agreed to support the following
comrades;
Provincial Chairperson: Cde Stan Mathabatha
Deputy Chairperson: Cde Florence Radzilani
Provincial Secretary: Cde Danny Msiza
Deputy Secretary: Cde Biskop Makamu
Provincial Treasurer: Cde Nakedi Sibanda-Kekana
The RGC tasked the regional chairperson and regional secretary to engage with
other regions to ensure that this leadership collective emerge. The RGC further
noted and concur with the view of ANC Treasurer General Cde Paul Mashatile that
branches want President Cyril Ramaphosa to stay on and avail himself to serve a
second term as ANC President.
