Anamur presentation
Anamur is a town located on the southern coast of Turkey in the province of Mersin. It takes its name from the ancient city of Anamurium, meaning "lagoon wind" in Latin. Anamur has a long history, having been conquered by several empires over the centuries. It has a beautiful natural landscape along the coast, with forests inland. The coast is an important nesting site for sea turtles. The town's economy depends on banana and strawberry farming. It offers historical sites like Mamure Castle and Akcami Bridge, as well as caves and beaches. The local cuisine features dishes like "Batırık" cold soup made with vegetables, olive oil and sometimes

- 2. Anamur is inthe south of Turkey and it’s province of Mersin .
- 3. • Anamur hastaken its name from ancient city ANAMURİUM. İt is a Latin word. Anem means, lagoon and ourium means ,wind. As even in summer the wind never stops.They called it lagoon wind. There is a good harmany among sea, nature and history Anamur was conquered by Ottoman Empire in 1471 and before that time it belonged to Hitit,Assyrians, Kizuvatnas.
- 4. ANAMUR’S NATURE Anamur coastis an area for the endargered animal caretta caretta. They lay their eggs here. The Mediterranean Seals live at silent and rock places. A part from our beatiful coast, we have big magnificent forest. We have different kinds of plants and several wild animals.
- 5. ANAMUR’S NATURE BEAUTY Theseplaces are worth seeing. For example:at the seaside İskele,Anamur Castel,Melleç and Ören beach then Pullu Picnic Area, Köşekbükü Cave, platos, forest...

- 13. ANAMUR’S CULTURE People arefriendly,hospitable,respectful for their customs here. Because; the living conditions are cheap,the climate, agriculture depends on vegatables and fruit. People from other cities come here for vacation.
- 14. LOCAL FOOD Generally, ourfood depends on vegetable,olive oil, sometimes meat. The most populer foods are “Batırık” and “Kısır”.Batırık is a cold soup but you can’t eat with bread. Anamur’s traditional food mostly depends on countryside traditions.
