The Common Security and Defense Policy (CSDP) represents an institutionalized
attempt by European Union Member States to respond
to the security challenges they confront. This paper discusses the
evolution of this policy through the lens of political integration and
international relations theories. The analysis integrates both the supranational
and the national level, and demonstrates that European
institutions have extended their privileges and sphere of influence
with increasing organizational mandates. At the same time, participation
by various levels in the creation of European security policies
has evolved, and the inter-governmental level is often recognized as
dominant. However, the question remains open whether this evolution
of policy might be properly explained by several influential
political theories that have shaped the European integration and
security architecture in recent decades. Aspects of the CSDP institutional
setting (its creation, goals and role) and the explanation of
why security and defense policy is a complex dilemma of the integration
process are discussed.EU-NATO relations through the lens of strategic documents
The main goal of this study is to contribute to the academic debate
concerning EU-NATO relations and to consider the main sources of difficulties in their
relationship. In particular, this analysis takes into account the possible role of the strategic
documents of both organisations in future cooperation. Consequently, the first part of the
article concentrates on dilemmas related to EU-NATO relations referred to in the existing
literature. The second part contains an analysis of the development of these relations,
while the third describes the presumptive impact of the NATO Strategic Concept and the
Global Strategy for the EU’s Foreign and Security Policy on cooperation between the two
organisations. The conclusion underlines that the process of implementing the strategic
documents should have positive effects on EU-NATO relations. However, the question
arises whether and how this process is continued.

This article refers to the various forms of lobbying at the level of local government in Poland. It includes the current law and the specific needs of local government in the perspective of cooperation witj interest groups. This aspects are presented in the context of current theories of lobbying. This article also reveals and discuss the complexity of the term „lobbyist” at municipal level and will help to explain who may be the subject of lobbying activities. It will be helpfull to indicate the appropriate recipients of the exact interest representation strategies. An interesting issue to present is the phenomenon of „inter-local government” lobbying which affects the evolutionary concept of the existance of "so called" hierarchy in the specific responsibilities of the structure of local government in Poland.

Lobbing gospodarczy w procesie decyzyjnym Unii Europejskiej
Brussels, the visible symbol of unity in diversity is a "temple" of lobbying. Its functioning institutional structure can be recognized as agora, same as a game field for pressure groups. One sentence describes it perfectly: lobby or not to be - lobitur ergo sum.
In ths book, author characterizes the phenomenon at supranational level, discusses concepts of lobbying in terms of their evolution and meaning. Reveals the influence of lobbying to the institutional and decision-making process of the Commission, the European Parliament, the European Council and the Council of the European Union to present complex interactions of lobbying and decision-making sphere. In the context of the legal framework for lobbying activities also analyse the jurisduction of the Court of Justice of the European Union on the aspect of access to documents of the EU institutions. Looking through the prism of economic interests representation, indicates the possibility of effective influence on the legislative process. Important are reflections on the direct and indirect methods and forms of activities of interest groups at the Brussels Forum, as well as litigation strategies and sharing of information using the possibilities offered by the Internet. These are the essential elements to highlight the professional rules of preparing effective lobbying strategies possible to implement at the EU level.

The Amsterdam Treaty has established the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice (AFSJ). Since then, it is an example of a policy-making area creating its way quickly and comprehensively. However, in this paper the main dilemma is to what extent the Schengen development has modified the framework of AFSJ and how it adapts in this policy while being an example of enhanced cooperation and differentiated integration model. Developments in this area are part of a realisation that European states need to act together to better face new challenges to peace and internal security, while ensuring respect for democracy and human rights. Gender equality is a vital aspect of the European integration process. Although specific legislation concerning gender issues was included in the establishing Treaties, in the Charter of fundamental rights and in a dozen other directives, non-discriminatory principle has also been strengthened by the jurisdiction of the Court of Justice of the European Union which formed a judgment in more than 200 cases. Nowadays, the EU equality legislation has moved far beyond basic gender issues, and this is also discussed in the article. It focuses not only on the fundamentals of EU legislation concerning gender equality but also on the level of its implementation and its most important limitations. Such considerations are broadened by a discussion on the EU actions which may be also treated as the implementation of non-discriminatory legislation.

The idea of building interconnectors between the transmission systems of the EU Member States is evolving and getting more visible in Poland. This approach is a part of the implementation of European Energy Policy, which aims to strengthen cooperation between Member States' energy sectors. Combining transmission networks in the EU has also been included as one of the strategic objectives of the national energy policy and a tool of ensuring security of supplies. It is pointed out that the EU needs a fully functioning, connected and integrated internal market of energy, so that no country is isolated from the European network of transmission. Gender equality is a vital aspect of the European integration process. Although specific legislation concerning gender issues was included in the establishing Treaties, in the Charter of fundamental rights and in a dozen other directives, non-discriminatory principle has also been strengthened by the jurisdiction of the Court of Justice of the European Union which formed a judgment in more than 200 cases. Nowadays, the EU equality legislation has moved far beyond basic gender issues, and this is also discussed in the article. It focuses not only on the fundamentals of EU legislation concerning gender equality but also on the level of its implementation and its most important limitations. Such considerations are broadened by a discussion on the EU actions which may be also treated as the implementation of non-discriminatory legislation.

The idea of building interconnectors between the transmission systems of the EU Member States is evolving and getting more visible in Poland. This approach is a part of the implementation of European Energy Policy, which aims to strengthen cooperation between Member States' energy sectors. Combining transmission networks in the EU has also been included as one of the strategic objectives of the national energy policy and a tool of ensuring security of supplies. It is pointed out that the EU needs a fully functioning, connected and integrated internal market of energy, so that no country is isolated from the European network of transmission. In a May 9, 2024 paper, Juri Opitz from the University of Zurich, along with Shira Wein and Nathan Schneider form Georgetown University, discussed the importance of linguistic expertise in natural language processing (NLP) in an era dominated by large language models (LLMs).
The authors explained that while machine translation (MT) previously relied heavily on linguists, the landscape has shifted. “Linguistics is no longer front and center in the way we build NLP systems,” they said.
