2. REVIEW OF VARIOUS SYSTEMS
• Integumentary system
• Musculoskeletal system
• Respiratory system
• Cardiovascular system
• Gastrointestinal system
• Urogenital system
• Nervous system
• Endocrine system
3. RESPIRATORY SYSTEM
The respiratory system consists of the
set of organs and tissues involved in
the uptake of oxygen from the
atmosphere and the release of carbon
dioxide
Structurally, the respiratory system is
divided into the upper and lower
respiratory tracts. The upper
respiratory system consists of the nasal
cavity, oral cavity, pharynx and their
associated structures.
The lower respiratory system consists
of the trachea, bronchi, bronchioles
and alveoli. It develops relatively late in
the embryo – which can cause
problems when babies are born
6. CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM
• Cardiovascular system is a system of organs that
includes the heart, blood vessels, and blood which
is circulated throughout the entire body of a human
or other vertebrate.
• Blood vessels are channels that carry blood
throughout the body.
• Your body contains about 60,000 miles of blood
vessels.
• Three types of vessels are artries, veins and
capillaries.
• 5 - 6 litres of blood circulates in the human body.
9. INTEGUMENTARY SYSTEM
• The integumentary system is the set of organs forming
the outermost layer of an animal's body. It comprises
the skin and its appendages, which act as a physical
barrier between the external environment and the
internal environment.
• It serves to protect and maintain the body of the
animal.
• The integumentary system includes the epidermis,
dermis, hypodermis, associated glands, hair, and nails.
• In addition to its barrier function, this system performs
many intricate functions such as body temperature
regulation, cell fluid maintenance, synthesis of Vitamin
D, and detection of stimuli.
