This document discusses the design of an industrial grade PDA using ZigBee wireless technology for intelligent transportation systems. The PDA allows parameters to be set reliably in harsh operating conditions. It uses a non-blocking communication and verification method for serial communication. The PDA has been implemented in practice with good results for setting transportation system parameters wirelessly in difficult environments.

Abstract
This paper designed an industrial grade PDA using wireless ZigBee
technology, and proposed a non-blocking communication and verification method
for the reliability of the serial communication. In that way, the problem has been
greatly solved that it is difficult to set the intelligent transportation's parameter in
harsh operating conditions. In practice, it has achieved a good result.
