яГШ When the grahani (duodenum) gets severely afflicted by the provoked doshas either by each one of the three doshas separately or by a
combination of them, it expels the food in an undigested form and the stool turns liquid and is passed repeatedly and with a foul smell
Sometimes, the process of digestion is complete, and the stools appear well formed. Nonetheless, it is passed repeatedly. This condition
is known as the grahani roga by the Ayurvedic Experts.

12. яГШ According to Acharya VAGBHATA ,its consider under the ASHTAMAHAGADA
яГШ Samagni has been considered an important factor for imparting strength, vigour, vitality growth and enthusiasm. On the
other hand, deranged state of Agni leads to various disorders and even death may ensue eventually.
яГШ Food is essential for life. It provides nutrition and it balances out the ongoing wear and tear phenomenon of the body, but
food is able to impart its qualities only when the Agni is in balanced state. Indulgence in etiological factors impairs the
Agni.
яГШ Agni thus weakened fails to digest and metabolize even a small quantity of food, which is easily digestible otherwise and a
condition of indigestion sets in. Undigested food gets fermented and become toxic to the body and hampers the
physiological action of the Grahani which eventually leads to Grahani Roga.
яГШ Symptomatology such as Atishruta and vibaddha mala pravritt, Jwar, Udgara, Arochaka, etc. follow this. Aharaj-Abhojana ,
Atibhojana , Vishama Bhojana , and Asatmya Bhojana are nidana that upset the agni.
яГШ Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a "disorder of gut-brain interaction" characterized by a group of symptoms that
commonly include abdominal pain, abdominal bloating and changes in the consistency of bowel movements.
яГШ IBS can negatively affect quality of life and may result in missed school or work or reduced productivity at work.Disorders
13. яГШ Grahani roga is is related to digestion of food and its absorption is becoming More common than the past due to
our faulty food habits, which are covered Under Grahani Dosha.
яГШ Grahani roga is chronic disease of Annavaha and Purishavaha srotas developed due to alteration of Agni and Manas (Mind).
яГШ The main treatment is correction of Agni i.e. indirectly treating indigestion. According to Ayurveda, Grahani is Tridoshatmak
disease of digestive fire which occurs due to Agnidusti.
яГШ As per the GIT system there is nervous involvement present in the various activities of GIT absorption and peristaltic
movement. In this view
яГШ Psychology also plays a major role in maintaining human health. Unusual psychology of a person about anxiety, anger, greed,
etc. can affect the physiology of digestion, therefore; they disrupt homeostasis, which teaches Grahani.
яГШ Satvavajaya chikitsa is also important as psychological factors also act as causative factor to the disease. Hence, i.e.
counselling and enhancing the will power of the patient along with use of drugs which act on pittadharakala
