3. Dr. Zhao is a graduate of Stony Brook University where he earned his Bachelor of Science
degree. Following Stony Brook, he received his Doctor of Optometry with honors at State
University of New York College of Optometry.
Dr. Zhao’s clinical training focus extensively on the treatment and management of ocular
diseases, such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, and a variety of
ocular pathologies. As a strong advocate for myopia prevention and control, he specializes in
Orthokeratology (Ortho-K) treatment to enhance the lives of many patients.
Dr. Zhao remains active in his profession and community, he serves as a member of the
American Optometric Association, and the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians. He
is not only an active participant in several mission trips to underserved countries to provide
complimentary care to those in need but also a compassionate Special Olympics volunteer.
