Lay's chips has been marketed as a division of Frito-Lay, a company owned by PepsiCo since 1965. Other brands in the Frito-Lay group include Fritos, Doritos, Ruffles, Cheetos, Rold Gold pretzels, and Sun Chips.
Kurkure is a brand of cheese puffs, developed and produced by Pepsico India, the Indian division of PepsiCo.[1] Named after the Hindiword for "crunchy", the snack was developed entirely in India. It was launched in 1999. The snack comes in numerous spicy Indian flavors like Masala Munch, Green Chutney Rajasthani Style, ChilliChatka and TamatarHydrabadi Style, Xtreme Electric Nimbu and Xtreme Risky Chilli.It was also launched in Pakistan in 2007, where it is manufactured by the local division of PepsiCo.[2][3] In November 2006, Frito Layannounced plans to release Kurkure to American markets sometime in 2007.[4] This decision was made after analysts showed increasing interest in Indian spices in the USA.
